Each season we select local gardening experts and designers, as well as our knowledgeable senior staff, to teach seminars & workshops in our popular gardening education series. Unless otherwise noted, seminars are free for Rewards Members and $10 for non-members. Workshop fees are additional and depend on the products used. Make & Take Workshop: Create a Hanging Houseplant Planter

Go vertical with hanging houseplants to brighten indoor spaces. Our designers will discuss hanging plant options and containers — you’ll choose from a variety of combinations for your small or large space. Take home one (or more) to display around your home or office. Class includes soil, fertilizer, moss, and gravel. Seminar:  Learn to Prune Japanese Maples

Pruning professional Elizabeth Ruiz will teach you the correct way to prune these beautiful trees. She’ll also demonstrate how Japanese Maples can be shaped through pruning. Seminar: Prepare Your Spring Vegetable Garden (Part 1)

Spring is a wonderful time to grow your own food! In the first part of this class our expert staff will discuss how to prepare the garden soil, plan a vegetable garden, offer design tips, and troubleshoot. Make & Take Workshop: Indoor Bonsai 101

Join us for an indoor version of our popular Bonsai class. Our knowledgeable staff will guide you through basic bonsai planting and care techniques using indoor plants. You’ll create a beautiful 4″ planted bonsai to bring home and enjoy, along with instructions on how to care for and maintain it. Class fee includes 4” bonsai pot, plant, soil, fertilizer. Healthy soil and fertilizer are vital for a healthy garden!  Learn why it’s important to fertilize, how to amend soil, and how to fertilize. E.B. Seminar: Learn to Prune Citrus

We welcome back Elizabeth Ruiz, aesthetic pruner and garden designer; her classes are a must for every gardener! Learn the most effective pruning techniques for citrus.
