- 1/4 cup fresh sage leaves, finely chopped.
- 1/2 small yellow onion, minced
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- A pinch of ground nutmeg
Combine all ingredients in a deep mixing bowl and stir together vigorously with a rubber spatula, taking care to push down the sides to fully incorporate. Let mixture stand at room temperature for thirty minutes to 1 hour for the flavors to saturate the butter. Pack into small crock or mason jar and refrigerate when not in use. Use within 10-14 days or freeze indefinitely.
