Whole Baked Apple Recipe

  • 4 apples
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • brown sugar
  • cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  After cleaning the apples, cut and then scoop out the core/seeds from the top so that there’s a well at the top (don’t cut all the way through to the other side, just through the core and seeds).

Place the apples in a baking dish, then spoon 1 Tb butter, 1-2 Tb brown sugar and a sprinkle of cinnamon into the well of each apple.  Pour 1/4 cup water into the baking dish and then bake uncovered for 30 minutes, checking to see that the apples are cooked through and tender, but not mushy.

Serve with ice cream!
