Thank you for shopping at Sloat Garden Center during our Food Bank Fundraiser. Your support helped us raise nearly $58,000 for the Ritter Center, The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, and the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. Thanks also to our vendors who so generously donated to this fundraiser: L&L Nursery Supply, E.B. Stone Organics, Pottery Merchant, McCall’s Nurseries, Blooms Nursery, Western Planting Solutions, and Cal Color Growers.

Ritter Center is helping families and individuals with little to no income in Marin County keep their homes, find shelter, access healthcare, and obtain food. Our food pantry has experienced a significant increase in demand. Our dedicated staff and volunteer teams are serving more than 350 – 400 households per week. COVID-19 has not only exacerbated extreme gaps in health and social equity, but it has created mass instability. Income loss, home loss, and the strain of sourcing food each day is enormous for many of our neighbors during this pandemic.

Our food pantry is open in San Rafael on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 10am-12:30pm and 1pm-3pm. See our website for COVID-19 changes in services and hours.

Thanks to the generosity of Sloat and its customers, we can continue providing these critical services during this crisis. Click here to make a direct donation.

The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano has been fighting hunger for 45 years and is now rising to the new challenges and increased demand brought on by the COVID-19 crisis. With skyrocketing unemployment, we know the recovery will realistically take years, but we’re committed to nourishing our community every step of the way.
