Coleus

Few plants can surpass easy-to-grow coleus for colorful, interesting foliage effects. Leaves may be up to 6 inches long in large-leaved strains, 1 1/2 inches in dwarf strains, and they’re available in an exotic range of patterns and colors, sometimes combining many colors on one leaf. Use for color and texture in summer borders and edging, and in indoor/outdoor containers and hanging baskets.

• Grow in containers or in the ground
• Best in bright shade or partial sun
• Companion plants: bacopa, lysimachia, fuchsia, heuchera, tuberous begonia
