About our Dutch Auction pottery

For the last four decades, Dave Straus, Sloat Garden Center’s long-time owner, has traveled all over Asia in search of beautiful pottery. Dave has met amazing pottery makers and imported their beautiful pots to sell in our stores (and to independent garden centers throughout North America). Each summer we bring in a selection of pottery samples and invite garden center pottery buyers from all over North America to choose styles and colors for the following season.

This year we’re holding a Dutch Auction to sell these one-of-a-kind pottery samples, and to sell out of discontinued styles and colors as we make room for new & exciting pottery. Stop in and see why industry folks travel so far each year to our pottery show… and score a treasure or two for your home!

*All sales final, and availability will vary by store.
* No holds.
*All auction pots marked with bright orange paint (inside).
*Don’t wait for the price to drop because these treasures will go fast!  Shop at any of the 2 convenient locations.
